I am a junior at Vale High School. My mother died when I was 10 years of age from Cancer. Her illness left a lasting mark in my heart. Our family has struggled to make ends meet and I have even had to work in the fields to help out at home. No one in our family has ever gone beyond high school.
Because of my Mom, I have always wanted to be a CNA and help take care of others. I was thrilled to be able to be in the Allied Health Class. I am very quiet and shy and did not participate much at first. I was barely passing the class.
As I begin to learn more and more about the health field, I become more excited about my future. I have gone from a quiet shy little girl to a willing student with an “A” in the course and an increase in all my other grades. I love coming to school now and know in my heart that I am capable of not just stopping at CNA but going on to be an RN. None of this would have happened if I had not taken the Allied Health Class.
